Raised on a family farm in Rhode Island, George Hemsley learned that hard work and planning, combined with determination and collaboration were the keys to making things grow.
That same philosophy of cultivating resources and working with others became the foundation of Hemsley Advisors. Our mission then was—and still is today—to simplify the complexity of the financial marketplace to help people reach their goals.
That simple way of thinking hasn’t changed over the decades. Although practically everything else has.
1988
George Hemsley sets up shop in his basement.
1989
Hemsley Advisors hires their first employee.
1991
George moves out of his basement to a real office in Barrington, Illinois.
2011
Hemsley Advisors reaches the milestone of having over $100 million in assets under management.
2016
Opened a second office in downtown Chicago.
2021
Hemsley Advisors unveils refreshed brand.
Today, with clients in 28 states—thanks to client referrals and the second office in downtown Chicago—Hemsley Advisors is still in the business of growing.
Instead of Christmas trees and other natural crops, Hemsley Advisors grows portfolios. We roll up our sleeves and nourish and cultivate every portfolio with all the care, attention, and respect they deserve.
The future is bright for Hemsley Advisors and our growing family of clients. The tools we use are more sophisticated, and technology now plays a key role in our process and how we invest and communicate.
